Postcards from San Francisco

I drew this Buddha inspired by the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.

They really excel at the mural in San Francisco.

This is the back of a postcard I sent.

It eventually got a bit messy, but it arrived safely, although some of the highlights rubbed off.

This is a present I made for Leah after she put us up for the night.

I am still waiting for this postcard to arrive.

I left my hat in San Francisco

At the very end of my trip, literally arriving at the airport for the flight home, I managed to leave my trusty Akubra International on the BART. I only took it off because I had walked 10 blocks with a 50lb pack and another backpack.

We loved each other well and I will get another one next time I am in Adelaide.

Always and ever

Another verse came to me when wandering in Brooklyn's first park: Fort Greene Park. Depending on your source, Walt Whitman either started the park or rallied support for it in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Always and ever
The love returns,
This is the love
That aches and yearns,
Always and ever
The love returns.

Always and ever,
Always and ever,
If talk turns to treasure,
Know only this is forever,
Always and ever
The love returns.

Always and ever,
When thoughts turn to never,
This is the fire
That always burns.
Always and ever
The love returns.
